DAY 1 AIRPORT / KATUNAYAKE (10km)
  11 Days Tour - Long strideArrive at the airport and be met by our representative and transferred to Hotel in Katunayake. Overnight stay at Tamarine Tree Hotel - Katunayake.
DAY 2 KATUNAYAKE / PINNAWALA / TRINCO (300km)
  11 Days Tour - Long strideBreakfast at Hotel. Leave for Trinco. En route visit ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE Pinnawala, Visit the Elephant Orphanage, the foster – home of elephants of different age and size feeding, bathing, playing together and even mating. These have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. There are even little baby calves born in captivity. Next Climb Rock Fortress. SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS It was the 5th century A.D when the craving for power and wealth led prince Kasyapa to cruelly kill his father in order to ascend the throne. When his half brother sought vengeance against him, king Kasyapa found the rock of Sigiriya an ideal place to build his stronghold. Having fortified and decorated the well-selected site for both security and pleasure the king Kasyapa ruled for a period of 19 years until his half brother return from India with an Army of mercenaries. The King marched forth leading his Army to meet his half brother in battle but was deserted by his Army who misunderstood the king for retreating when he was only making a detour to avoid a swamp. The brave king continued single and on meeting his half brother face to face said “ I will not die by your sword” Then he drew his own sword and ended his life by driving it through his throat. The ramparts, motes, the incredible water garden with many pools and primitive fountains. The boulder garden well terraced and laid, the world famous Fresco paintings of the Sigiriya ladies, the mirror wall and graffiti, the gigantic lion paws hewend on granite, the ruins of the place and kings bath which are still preserved in reasonably good condition have made Sigiriya (Known as the eighth wonder of the World) one of Sri Lankas most famous and popular sites not only for tourists but also to the Sri Lankan. DAY 3 TRINCO (40km)
  11 Days Tour - Long strideBreakfast at Hotel. Visit Pigeon Island. Next FORT FREDRICK Fort Fredrick originally Built by the Portuguese in 1624 was Captured and fortified by the Dutch in 1656. This fort stands as a mute witness to colonial Forays of the past. With in the Fort is the Famous Hindu Temple “Koneswaran” and it stands on the Rocks edge of the eastern precipice. HOTWELLS (KANNIYAI) The Hot wells of Kanniyai are situated 11 Km out of the city of Trincomalee. There 7 wells containing Hot water of varying Temperatures. This phenomenon is venerated by Hindus and also the water of these springs is believed to have therapeutic properties. Dinner and Overnight stay at Nilaveli Beach – Trinco.
DAY 4 TRINCO / DAMBULLA / KANDY (200km)

En route visit the Cave Temples of Dambulla, DAMBULLA CAVE TEMPLE The cave temple of Dambulla was the hideout of King Valagamba of the 01st Century B.C who fled from Anuradhapura (The capital city) due to an invasion from South India. On recapturing the city and regaining his throne after fourteen years of hiding, the king converted the caves that offered him refuge into temples and gifted them to the Buddhist monks. King Nissankamalla of the Polonnaruwa period made his contribution to the site by gilding many of the statues after which it was called Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya, which means the golden rock temple of Dambulla.This is stated in the rock inscription at the entrance to the complex. The kings of the Kandyan period also made their part of contribution by adding more statues of the Buddha and murals depicting highlights of the Buddha’s life. Visit the Rock cave temple of Dambulla and experience the feeling of a place where Time has stood still… Next SPICE GARDEN Visit a spice garden at Matale where spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication are grown Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea faring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise. Visit art and craft center and Gem Bureau where you will be shown a documentary film on how Sri Lankan Gem mining is traditionally done. Next visit Temple. TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH OF RELIC Visit the Temple of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. This temple, the most important one for The Sri Lankan Buddhists was built in the 16th Century A.D. solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic. Observe the magnificent Architecture of that period and experience the tranquility of the atmosphere. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Hunnas Falls Hotel.
DAY 5 KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA (80km)
  11 Days Tour - Long strideAfter Breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. En route City tour of Kandy including Upper Lake Drive, Next visit Botanical Garden Peradeniya. BOTANICAL GARDEN Which was a pleasure garden of a Kandyan King of the 16th Century and later made in to a Botanical Garden during the British regime. This gardens; one of the best in Asia is a place of beauty and site for bird watchers. NUWARA ELIYA The Hill country of Sri Lanka is a sight to behold. After the heat of the low lands of Sri Lanka, the diversity of temperature and scenery of the high lands is incredible. Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Bandarawela, are three popular hill stations of Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya being the highest, situated over 6000 feet above sea level is also called “Little England”. As this is where the British built themselves a home away from home. The winding road that leads to the hill country through tea plantations that carpet the hills to extents beyond sight, the water falls that meander cascading down the hills, the misty valleys and scenery are certainly awe inspiring. One who drives up to Nuwara Eliya from Colombo [a four hour drive] will find it impossible to accept it to be a part of the same country. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya to be greeted by the fresh wintry atmosphere, the cottage type bungalows and the colonial air. (Nuwara Eliya is also known as “Little England”) Next TEA FACTORY Visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory enroute. Sri Lanka being famous for its “Ceylon Tea” has added cheers to many the world over for more than a century. City Tour of Nuwara Eliya. NUWARA ELIYA CITY TOUR Drive through the little town of Nuwara Eliya observing the well-maintained buildings of colonial Architecture. Visit the busy market where the tea plantation workers rush in and out with their days provisions. Visit the lake Gregory built for generating power during the British Colonial age but now a feature that adds beauty to the city. Dinner and Overnight stay at St. Andrews Hotel - Nuwara Eliya.
DAY 6 NUWARA ELIYA / KITHULGALA / HIKKADUWA. (275km)

The name Kitulgala derived from the word KITUL (fish tail palm) trees that grow in abundance in these parts. The Kelani River that flows through Kitulgala does not only beautifully the village but also attracts tourists for the white water rafting that has become so popular in it. The most important scene of blasting the bridge and train in the famous film “ The Bridge on the River Kvai” was also filmed at Kitulgala and the film site is also a site visited by many tourists. Bandara Kele a patch of nature reserve that has become very popular with bird watchers and Nature lovers. .Next WHITE WATER RAFTING Fun and excitement of white water rafting down the Kelani River rated at 2 / 3 is indeed a great experience. Clearing seven rapids over a run of six kilometers and passing the Film site of the famous Film Bridge on the River Kwaii ( Where the Bridge was Blasted). Proceed to Hikkaduwa. Next visit Turtle Hatchery TURTLE HATCHERY Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Lays hers eggs and covers it with sand where it is supposed to, incubate by the heat of the sun. What often happens is, the eggs are dug out by fisherman and sold to people who consume them. But now the eggs are bought up by the conservation projects and are hatched the Natural way in enclosed areas where the Birds don’t have a chance of picking them up and the babies are let in to the sea after two days at night time which offers them a better chance of survival P.m. at leisure Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel Serendib Bentota.

DAY 10 BENTOTA / COLOMBO / NEGOMBO (135km)
