DAY 1 AIRPORT / NEGOMBO (25km)
  13 days tour - Focus on leopardsArrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, met by "Spelndidsri lanka"Representatives and transfer to a Hotel in Negombo. P.m. at leisure Overnight stay at Hotel in Negombo.
DAY 2 NEGOMBO / PINNAWALA / SIGIRIYA (190km)
  13 days tour - Focus on leopardsBreakfast at Hotel. Leave for Sigiriya. En route visit ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE The foster – home of elephants of different age and size feeding, bathing, playing together and even mating. These have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. There are even little baby calves born in captivity. p.m. Climb the rock fortress. Climb the Lion Rock Fortress of Sigiriya. SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS It was the 5th century A.D when the craving for power and wealth led prince Kasyapa to cruelly kill his father in order to ascend the throne. When his half brother sought vengeance against him, king Kasyapa found the rock of Sigiriya an ideal place to build his stronghold. Having fortified and decorated the well-selected site for both security and pleasure the king Kasyapa ruled for a period of 19 years until his half brother return from India with an Army of mercenaries. The King marched forth leading his Army to meet his half brother in battle but was deserted by his Army who misunderstood the king for retreating when he was only making a detour to avoid a swamp. The brave king continued single and on meeting his half brother face to face said “ I will not die by your sword” Then he drew his own sword and ended his life by driving it through his throat. The ramparts, motes, the incredible water garden with many pools and primitive fountains. The boulder garden well terraced and laid, the world famous Fresco paintings of the Sigiriya ladies, the mirror wall and graffiti, the gigantic lion paws hewend on granite, the ruins of the place and kings bath which are still preserved in reasonably good condition have made Sigiriya (Known as the eighth wonder of the World) one of Sri Lankas most famous and popular sites not only for tourists but also to the Sri Lankan. DAY 3 DAMBULLA / MINNERIYA (80km)
  13 days tour - Focus on leopardsBreakfast at Hotel. Leave for Dambulla to visit Cave Temple. CAVE TEMPLE DAMBULLA Which contains more than 150 Statues of the Buddha. This was where a king of the 1st Century B.C. took refuge and latter converted them into a monastery. Next elephant Safari at Habarana. ELEPHANT SAFARI The Elephant that was the limousine, Bulldozer, War Tank, Status Symbol, Wealth Asset and Domestic pet in the past is today an element that adds colour to pageants or the gentle Giant that gives pleasure rides. The Elephant Safari Habarana (At Village) has become a highlight event to tourist for its excitement and adventure or even for the "Chance of a Life Time " of riding an Elephant. The Elephant Safari is a ride on an Elephant with safely secured seat that takes around two hours. The ride takes you on a bund of an ancient lake built for irrigation then through the jungle and even crosses a part of the lake where you could get your feet wet whilst seated on Elephant Back. This is fun never to be missed when in Sri Lanka. Next Safari at Minneriya. Located between Habarana and Pollonnaruwa. the 8890 hectares of Minnierya National Park is an ideal eco tourism location in Sri Lanka. The park consists of mixed evergreen forest and scrub areas and is home to Sri Lanka favourites such as sambar deer, leopards and elephants. How ever the central feature of the park is the ancient Minneriya Tank (built in 03rd century AD by king Mahasena.During the dry season (June to September), this tank is an incredible place to observe the elephants who come to bathe and graze on the grassses as well as the huge flocks of birds that come to fish in the shallow waters. DAY 4 DAMBULLA / KANDY (120km)

SPICE GARDEN Visit a spice garden at Matale which grows spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication. Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea faring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise. P.m. Visit art and craft centre and Gem Bureau where you will be shown a documentary film on how Sri Lankan Gem mining is traditionally done Enjoy a typical Sri Lankan Cultural Show of Drumming Dancing music and fire walking. Sight seeing of kandy including Upper Lake Drive and visit to Art and Craft Centres. Next visit TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH RELIC. The Temple of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. This temple, the most important one for The Sri Lankan Buddhists. It was built in the 16th Century A.D. solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic. Overnight Stay at Hotel in Kandy
DAY 5 KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA (120km)
  13 days tour - Focus on leopardsAfter breakfast Leave for Nuwara Eliya. En-route visit the Botanical Garden Peradeniya. BOTANICAL GARDEN. Which was a pleasure garden of a Kandyan King of the 16th Century and later made in to a Botanical Garden during the British regime. Nuwara Eliya, the misty city is located over 6000 feet above sea level. The drive will be through refreshing Tea Plantations covering the hills like carpets and cascading waterfalls to mesmerize you. TEA FACTORY Visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory en route. Sri Lanka being famous for its “Ceylon Tea” has added cheer to many the world over for more than a century. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya to be greeted by the fresh wintry atmosphere, the cottage type bungalows and the colonial air. ( Nuwara Eliya is also known as “Little England”) NUWARA ELIYA CITY TOUR Drive through the little town of Nuwara Eliya observing the well-maintained buildings of colonial Architecture. Visit the busy market where the tea plantation workers rush in and out with their days provisions. Visit the lake Gregory built for generating power during the British Colonial age but now a feature that adds beauty to the city. Overnight stay at hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
DAY 6 NUWARA ELIYA / YALA (225km)

En route stop at Ella Grand Motel to enjoy the view of the famous Ella gap, also view the beauty of the Ravana Falls as you descend to the low lands. Next BUDURUWAGALA. The rock carvings of Buduruwagala are believed to be over a Thousand years old. There are seven figures carved in high relief on a Rock that rises beyond the stream and the tallest one is of the Buddha, which is 51 feet tall. DAY 10 YALA / GALLE / BENTOTA (275km)

It was later discovered by the Portuguese where they built a fortress and the Dutch that succeeded them fortified it further. This fortress is today a World Heritage Site. Next River Safari in Madhu Ganga BOAT SAFARI The Boat Safari on the River Madhu is something that words would not justify. The primitive Life Style of the inhabitant of the islands of the Madhu River is only a boat ride away. The boat ride that takes you through the thick mangroves, The bird life around, the primitive style of Fishing and prawn trapping still practiced by the inhabitants of the islands will reveal to you another facet of splendid Sri Lanka. Next visit Turtle Hatchery. TURTLE HATCHERY Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Lays hers eggs and covers it with sand where it is supposed to, incubate by the heat of the sun. What often happens is, the eggs are dug out by fisherman and sold to people who consume them. But now the eggs are bought up by the conservation projects and are hatched the Natural way in enclosed areas where the Birds don’t have a chance of picking them up and the babies are let in to the sea after two days at night time which offers them a better chance of survival.
