DAY 02 : NEGOMBO / KANDY
Breakfast at Hotel. leave for Kandy. En route visit the Elephant Orphanage.
ELEPHANT
ORPHANAGE
The foster – home of elephants of different age and size feeding,
bathing, playing together and even mating. These have been found injured
or left abandoned in the wilderness. There are even little baby calves
born in captivity.

Visit Spice Gardens.
SPICE GARDENS
Visit a spice garden where you will see the sources of spices and herbs
used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication are grown. Spices of Sri Lanka
attracted the early sea faring merchants who made the long voyages to
purchase this precious merchandise.

enjoy a typical Sri Lankan Cultural Show of Drumming Dancing music and
fire walking.
Sight seeing of kandy including Upper Lake Drive and visit to Art and
Craft Centres.
TEMPLE
OF THE TOOTH RELIC
Next Visit the Temple of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. This temple,
the most important one for The Sri Lankan Buddhists was built in the 16th
Century A.D. solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic.

DAY 03 :KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA
After Breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. En route visit Botanical Garden.

later made in to a Botanical Garden during the British regime.

ELIYA
Nuwara Eliya, the misty city is located over 6000 feet above sea level.
The drive will be through refreshing Tea Plantations covering the hills
like carpets and cascading waterfalls to mesmerize you.

Visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory en route. Sri Lanka being famous
for its “Ceylon Tea” adding cheer to many the world over for
more than a century.

in Nuwara Eliya to be greeted by the fresh winter atmosphere. Observe
the well preserved colonial architecture of bungalows that were the homes
of Lords, Governor’s and Planters who pioneered the “ Ceylon
Tea” drive.( Nuwara Eliya is also known as “Little England”)

GALLE
En route visit the Galle Dutch fort. Galle is a city with a History of
mainly Portuguese and Dutch influence. The arrival of the Portuguese on
the island by setting foot in Galle town is busy city centered around
the Bus and Railway Stations, inside the Fort, it becomes very quite and
takes you back two to three centuries. The oldest Protestant church in
the country called the ‘Groote Kerk’ is located within the
fort and built by the Dutch. It is situated next to New Oriental Hotel
also built by Dutch as the Governor’s Residence in the year 1684.
