DAY 01 : AIRPORT / DAMBULLA.
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport, met by "Spelndidsri lanka"Representatives and transfer to a Hotel in Negombo.

p.m. City Tour at Fishing Village.

FISHING VILLAGE

Visit the Fishing Village, The Old Dutch Fish Market. The old protestant Church overlooking the Negombo Lagoon. The remains of the Old Dutch Fortress and the Hamilton canal a masterpiece of the Dutch built for the purpose of transporting goods on rafts.

DAY 02: NEGOMBO

DAY 03: NEGOMBO / PINNAWALA / HABARANA
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Habarana.

En route visit Elephant Orphanage.

ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE

the foster – home of elephants of different age and size feeding, bathing, playing together and even mating. These have been found injured or left abandoned in the wilderness. There are even little baby calves born in captivity.

DAY 04 : HABARANA / ANURADHAPURA
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Anuradhapura.

The first Capital of Sri Lanka founded in the 4th Centuary B.C. City Tour includes, visits to “Isurumuniya”, Sacred Bo-tree, the Brazen – Palace, Ruwanweliseya, Samadhi Statue, Abyagiriya, Moonstone Twin Ponds and Jethwanaramaya.

DAY 05: HABARANA / (ELEPHANT RIDE)

DAY 06: HABARANA / POLLONNARUWA
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Pollonnaruwa.

POLLONNARUWA
2nd Capital of Sri Lanka, City Tour including visits to the Gal Vihara with its majestic rock statues of the Buddha in standing, reclining and seated forms, the Thuparamaya, the princes’ pond, Lankathilaka Viharaya and the relic houses of Watadageya, Hatadageya and the Atadageya.

Next visit the National Park at Minneriya.

SAFARI MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK
visit Minnereriya National Park at Minneriya. This will include a Safari tour by jeep with a jungle tracker, where you can see animals in the Jungle; including elephants , Bears, Wild boar, Dear, Buffalo, Monkeys and many other animals if you are lucky, leopards too. You also could see different types of birds. It’s a small experience for bird watch lovers.

DAY 07: HABARANA / SIGIRIYA
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Climb the Rock Fortress.

SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS
Climb the Lion Rock Fortress of Sigiriya which contains beautiful frescoes of heavenly maidens with flowers and fruit baskets and a palace garden with an intricate irrigation system - Sigiriya is called the 08th Wonder of the World. This was the Royal Citadel of King Kasyapa who ruled in the 5th Century A.D.

DAY 08 : HABARANA / DAMBULLA / KANDY
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Kandy.

En route visit the Cave Temples of Dambulla,

CAVE TEMPLE
Which contains more than 150 Statues of the Buddha. This was where a king of the 1st Century B.C. took refuge and latter converted them into a monastery.

Next visit the Spice Garden.
SPICE GARDEN
Visit a spice garden at Matale, which grows spices and herbs used for Sri Lankan cuisine and medication. Spices of Sri Lanka attracted the early sea faring merchants who made the long voyages to purchase this precious merchandise.

DAY 09: KANDY / PERADENIYA
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Peradeniya.

BOTANICAL GARDEN
Which was a pleasure garden of a Kandyan King of the 16th Century and later made in to a Botanical Garden during the British regime.

Next Visit art and craft centre and Gem Bureau where you will be shown a documentary film on how Sri Lankan Gem mining is traditionally done.

Enjoy a typical Sri Lankan Cultural Show of Drumming Dancing music and fire walking.

TEMPLE OF THE TOOTH RELIC
Next Visit the Temple of the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. This temple, the most important one for The Sri Lankan Buddhists was built in the 16th Century A.D. solely for the purpose of housing the tooth relic.

Sight seeing of kandy including Upper Lake Drive and visit to Art and Craft Centres

DAY 10: KANDY / / HUNNAS FALLS / VICTORIA DAM
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Visit Victoria Dam.

En route visit Hunnas Falls

25 km from Kandy is a Village called Hunnas Giriya where tea is grown. Hunnas Falls named after the very village I the pride and fame earning factor of this quaint tucked away settlement. Next visit the Victoria Dam.
VICTORIA DAM
Built across the Mahaweli River that begin from the famous Adams Peak, is one of the greatest projects in Power generation of Sri Lanka. The Drive to the view point is an enchanting one which takes you through landscapes of scenic beauty.

DAY 11: KANDY /NUWARA ELIYA
Breakfast at Hotel.

Leave for Nuwara Eliya by train.

You will be met by the chauffer guide at “Nanu Oya” Station and transferred to the Hotel at Nuwara Eliya to continue with tour.

Proceed to Nuwara Eliya, the misty city is located over 6000 feet above sea level.

The drive will be through refreshing Tea Plantations covering the hills like carpets and cascading waterfalls to mesmerize you.

TEA FACTORY
Visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory en route. Sri Lanka being famous for its “Ceylon Tea” has added cheer to many the world over for more than a century.

Arrive in Nuwara Eliya to be greeted by the fresh wintry atmosphere, the cottage type bungalows and the colonial air. ( Nuwara Eliya is also known as “Little England”)

DAY 12 : NUWARA ELIYA

DAY 13 : NUWARA ELIYA / HAPUTALE
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Haputale.

En route Visit Worlds end (Horton plains )
HORTON PLAINS
Located in the highest plateau of Sri Lanka at an elevation of 7,000 feet above sea level. Usually the plains are visible before 10 a.m. as otherwise the mist covers the view. The highlight of the Plains is the terrific escarpment which drops vertically for about 1,000 feet. On a very clear day, one could view the east horizon too.

Rare species of fauna and flora are found here. This Plain was once the hunting ground for the British Governor Mr. Farr. Today the home of Mr. Farr has been turned into a Rest House and is called “Farr Inn”.

Proceed to Haputale.

DAY 14 : HAPUTALE / RAVANA FALLS

DAY 15 : HAPUTALE / RATHNAPURA
Breakfast at Hotel. Leave for Rathnapura via Kithulgala.

WHITE WATER RAFTING
Fun and excitement of white water rafting down the kelani River rated at 2 / 3 is indeed a great experience. Clearing seven rapids over a run of six kilometers and passing the Film site of the famous Film Bridge on the River Kwaii ( Where the Bridge was Blasted)

Visit Kithul and Jaggery Manufacturing Village

Proceed to Rathnapura.

DAY 16 : RATHNAPURA / SINHARAJA FOREST
After Breakfast visit Sinharaja Forest.

DAY 18 : HIKKADUWA / GALLE

Visit Dutch Fortress.
GALLE DUTCH FORTRESS
An ancient city which is now a modern and buzzing town today. It was the most important sea port way back in history, where the sea faring merchants arrived to trade and barter. This is also where the Portuguese first set foot in the year 1505 and built a fortress, Which was later captured and fortified by the Dutch. The fortress is one of the best preserved in the island. A visit to the fortress and to watch the sunset from the rampart is an experience unforgettable.

The oldest Protestant church in the country called the ‘Groote Kirk’ built by the Dutch is located inside the Fort. It is situated close to New Oriental Hotel also built by them as the Governor’s Residence in 1684

DAY 19 : HIKKADUWA

The boat ride that takes you through the thick mongroves, The bird life around, the primitive style of Fishing and prawn trapping still practiced by the inhabitants of the islands will reveal to you another facet of splendid Sri Lanka.

TURTLE HATCHERY
Projects have been launched to conserve the population of turtles that are reaching extinction and such projects are found along the southern coast of Sri Lanka where turtles come ashore to lay their eggs. The turtle digs a hole on the Beach, Layes hers eggs and covers it with sand where it is supposed to, incubate by the heat of the sun. What often happens is, the eggs are dug out by fisherman and sold to people who consume them.
But now the eggs are bought up by the conservation projects and hatched the Natural way in enclosed areas and the Birds don’t have a chance of picking them up. This offers them a better chance of survival and the babies are let in to the sea after two days at night where
